2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register for an account, we collect:

•       Your name

•       Your email address

•       Your password (stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider, Google Firebase)

2.2 Usage Data

As you use the Service, we collect and store:

•       Your credit balance (number of story generation credits)

•       Your story count (total and lifetime)

•       Account creation and last-updated timestamps

•       Free credit eligibility and usage signals used to help prevent misuse of the Explorer offer

2.3 Photographs

When you upload photographs to generate a story, those photographs are transmitted securely to Google AI, and any replacement or additional AI provider we may use in future, for processing. Your original photographs are not stored by us after story generation is complete. We do not retain, view, or use your photographs for any purpose other than generating your story.

2.4 Saved Story Content

If you choose to save a story, we store the following associated with your account:

•       Story title

•       Story prompt or description you provided

•       AI-generated story text

•       AI-generated story images (compressed versions — not your original photographs)

•       Story creation and update timestamps

Saved stories are stored privately in your account and are not shared with other users.

2.5 Payment Information

When you purchase credits, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not collect, process, or store your credit card number, bank account details, or any other financial information. Stripe may collect and store your payment information in accordance with their own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

We receive confirmation from Stripe that a payment has been completed and the number of credits purchased. We store this outcome (credits added, transaction timestamp) in your account.

2.6 Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how users interact with the Service. This may include data such as pages visited, time spent on the Service, general geographic location (country/region), and device/browser type. This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to your name or email address.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

•       Create and manage your account

•       Process your photographs through Google AI, and any replacement or additional AI provider we may use in future, to generate social story content

•       Display and manage your saved stories

•       Manage your credit balance and process purchases

•       Limit misuse of free story credit offers

•       Send transactional emails (e.g. payment confirmations, account notices)

•       Improve and develop the Service

•       Respond to your enquiries and support requests

•       Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising purposes, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We may share your information with the following third parties, solely for the purpose of providing the Service:

4.1 Google Firebase

We use Google Firebase for user authentication and for storing account data and saved stories. Firebase is operated by Google LLC and data may be stored on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

4.2 Stripe

We use Stripe for payment processing. When you make a purchase, your payment details are submitted directly to Stripe and are not transmitted to us. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

4.3 Google AI and Other AI Providers

Your photographs are transmitted to Google AI, and any replacement or additional AI provider we may use in future, for the purpose of generating story content. These providers process your photographs under their own privacy and data handling policies. Photographs are transmitted securely and are not retained by us after generation. We may update the AI provider(s) we use from time to time; any material change will be reflected in this Privacy Policy.

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your personal information where required to do so by law, court order, or in response to a lawful request by public authorities.

5. International Data Transfers

Because we use cloud-based service providers including Google Firebase, Stripe, Google AI, and any replacement or additional AI provider we may use in future, your personal information may be transferred to and stored in countries outside Australia, including the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

•       Account information is retained until you request deletion of your account

•       Saved stories are retained until you delete them or request account deletion

•       Your original photographs are not retained after story generation

•       Payment records may be retained for a period required by law or for accounting purposes

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These measures include:

•       Encrypted transmission (HTTPS) for all data in transit

•       Authentication-based access so only you can access your account data

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Lion mAIn Stories is designed to be used by adults to create social stories for children and individuals with neurodivergence. Accounts must be created by individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under the age of 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate consent, please contact us at hello@lionmainstories.com and we will take steps to remove that information.

Where photographs of children are uploaded to the Service, the account holder is responsible for ensuring appropriate consents have been obtained and that use of the Service is appropriate for the child.

10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Service may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and support the functionality of the Service. Google Analytics also uses cookies to collect usage data as described in Section 2.6.

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of the Service.
